Welcome to our Classic WoW Blacksmithing Leveling Guide, crafted to assist you in efficiently and economically leveling your Blacksmithing skill from 1 to 300.

Blacksmithing pairs seamlessly with Mining, enabling you to conserve gold by mining your own ore instead of purchasing it from the Auction House

Blacksmithing Trainers Locations in WoW Classic Era:

Apprentice Blacksmith Trainers (1 — 75)

To start working on Blacksmithing you need to become Apprentice Blacksmith by learning Apprentice Blacksmith skill. To do that you need to find Blacksmith trainer with <Journeyman Blacksmith> tag. That will allow you to make your way up to 75 skill points.

Journeyman Blacksmith Trainers (75 — 150)

To go above 75 skill points you need to become Journeyman Blacksmith by learning Journeyman Blacksmith skill. To do that you need to find Blacksmith trainer with <Expert Blacksmith> tag. That will allow you to make your way up to 150 skill points.

Expert Blacksmith Trainers (150 — 225)

To go above 150 skill points you need to become Expert Blacksmith by learning Expert Blacksmith skill. To do that you need to find Alchemist trainer with <Artisan Blacksmith> tag. That will allow you to make your way up to 225 skill points.

Neutral Expert Blacksmith Trainer:

Galvan the Ancient in Stranglethorn (50.6 20.6 a bit South from ZG entrance)
Please, consider to avoid Galvan on Hardcore servers on low levels.

Artisan Blacksmith Trainers

To go above 225 skill points you need to become Artisan Blacksmith by learning Artisan Blacksmith skill. To do that you need to find Alchemist trainer with <Master Blacksmith> tag. That will allow you to make your way up to 300 skill points.

Craft 40 x Rough Sharpening Stone
You will need 40 x Rough Stone

30 — 65

Craft 55 x Rough Grinding Stone
You will need 110 x Rough Stone
Save 10 x Rough Grinding Stone for later

65 — 75

Craft 25 x Coarse Sharpening Stone
You will need 25 x Coarse Stone

Journeyman Blacksmithing Leveling (75 — 125):

To increase your Blacksmithing skill beyond level 75, you need to be level 10 or higher and learn Journeyman Blacksmith skill from <Expert Blacksmith> trainer.

Craft 35 x Coarse Grinding Stone
You will need 70 x Coarse Stone

Save 35 x Coarse Grinding Stone for later
If you didn't reach 90 skill points on this step, you can still continue to the next step, but you will need a few more Copper Bars, or make a few more Coarse Grinding Stones.

90 — 100

Craft 10 x Runed Copper Belt 
You will need 100 x Copper Bar

100 — 105

Craft 5 x Silver Rod 
You will need 5 x Silver Bar and 10 x Rough Grinding Stone 
You should have Rough Grinding Stone them from step 30 — 65.

105 — 110

Craft 5 x Runed Copper Belt 
You will need 50 x Copper Bar

110 — 125

Craft 15 x Rough Bronze Leggings 
You will need 90 x Bronze Bar

Expert Blacksmithing Leveling (125 — 225):

To increase your Blacksmithing skill beyond level 150, you need to be level 20 and learn Expert Blacksmith skill from <Artisan Blacksmith> trainer.

Yo will need 105 x Heavy Stone

Keep 35 x Heavy Grinding Stone for later.
Also you can make this one up to 150, if you have some extra Heavy Stone or if thats cheap on auction house.

Craft 10 x Patterned Bronze Bracers 
You will need 50 x Bronze Bar and 20 x Coarse Grinding Stone
You should have Coarse Grinding Stone from the step 75 — 90.

150 — 225

Craft 5 x Golden Rod 
Yo will need 5 x Gold Bar and 10 x Coarse Grinding Stone
(You should have Coarse Grinding Stone from the step 75 — 90)

Craft 10 x Green Iron Leggings 
You will need 80 x Iron Bar, 10 x Green Dye and 10 x Heavy Grinding Stone

You can buy Green Dye from Tailoring Supplies vendors.
You should have Heavy Grinding Stone from step 125 — 140.

165 — 190

Craft 25 x Green Iron Bracers 
You will need 150 x Iron Bar and 25 x Green Dye

You can buy Green Dye from Tailoring Supplies vendors.

190 — 200

Craft 10 x Golden Scale Bracers 
You will need 50 x Steel Bar, 20 x Heavy Grinding Stone

You should have Heavy Grinding Stone from step 125 — 140.

200 — 210

Craft 30 x Solid Grinding Stone 
You will need 120 x Solid Stone

Keep a stack (20) of Solid Grinding Stone for later

210 — 225

Craft 15 x Heavy Mithril Gauntlet
You will need 90 x Mithril Bar and 60 x Mageweave Cloth

Artisan Blacksmithing Leveling (225 — 300):

To increase your Blacksmithing skill beyond level 225, you need to be level 35 and learn Artisan Blackmith skill from <Artisan Blacksmith> trainer.

You will need 140 x Steel Bar and 10 x Solid Grinding Stone

You should have Solid Grinding Stone from the step 200 — 210.

Buy Plans: Mithril Spurs from the Auction House.

Craft 20 x Mithril Spurs
You will need 80 x Mithril Bar and 60 x Solid Grinding Stone

You should have Solid Grinding Stone from the step 200 — 210.

If you cannot get Plans: Mithril Spurs from Auction House, you can make alternative recipe:

Craft 15 x Mithril Coif 
You will need 150 x Mithril Bar and 90 x Mageweave Cloth

Craft 20 x Dense Sharpening Stone
You will need 20 x Dense Stone

260 — 300

If you cannot get Plans: Mithril Spurs from Auction House, you can make one of these alternative recipes:

You will need 120 x Thorium Bar and 40 x Blue Power Crystal

Plans: Thorium Belt

Craft 10 x Thorium Belt
You will need 120 x Thorium Bar and 40 x Red Power Crystal

Plans: Radiant Belt

Craft 10 x Radiant Belt 
You will need 100 x Thorium Bar and 20 x Heart of Fire

If you cannot do any of recipes above — you can learn alternative recipes from profession trainers:

260 — 265

Craft 8 x Heavy Mithril Boots 
You will need 112 x Mithril Bar and 32 x Thick Leather

265 — 270

Craft 5 x Imperial Plate Belt
You will need 110 x Thorium Bar, 30 x Rugged Leather and 5 x Aquamarine

You can get the recipe from the Imperial Plate Belt quest in Tanaris from Derotain Mudsipper. Make sure you have 20 x Thorium Bar in your bagsto complete the quest.

The next two recipes are also from the same NPC, so make sure to bring at least 80 x Thorium Bar with you to buy all 3 recipes!

270 — 295

Craft 25 x Imperial Plate Bracers 
You will need 500 x Thorium Bar and 25 x Star Ruby

295 — 300

Craft 5 x Imperial Plate Boots 
You will need 170 x Thorium Bar, 5 x Star Ruby, 5 x Aquamarine

You can get the recipe from the same NPC as the previous one but this quest requires 40 x Thorium Bar.
